For all of our followers locked in on the future of the league, let’s get into some content you’ll be enjoy!

Team Top Prospect Lists

We’re working this offseason to update our team top prospect lists heading into 2025 and Aram Leighton recently provided updated rankings for the Royals, Tigers and Mariners.

Throughout the offseason, we’ll be diving into the top 15 prospects (and names to watch) from teams across the league with in-depth breakdowns you’ll be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

Check out the latest updated teams below with more to come soon!

Kansas City Royals

Headlined by 2024 sixth overall pick Jac Caglianone and a trio of impressive young catchers, the Royals system has been steadily improving.

With Kansas City on the rise after a surprise playoff appearance, a number of these prospects will be key in them taking the next step forward either on the big league roster or via trade in coming years.

Salvador Perez isn’t getting any younger and is spending less time behind the dish. They have a strong catching pipeline in Blake Mitchell and Carter Jensen and will allow Perez to focus more on hitting down the stretch of his career. While they don’t have any top-end arms, a few have made strides in the right direction. Full analysis on The Call Up!

Detroit Tigers

Led by the top pitching prospect in baseball, Detroit’s farm system features five clear Top 100 prospects and a deep system all around.

Jackson Jobe is ready for the spotlight after a brief MLB stint late in 2024 while a duo of first round talents in Kevin McGonigle and Max Clark project as everyday MLB players in the future.

The Tigers further bolstered the top of the system by adding Bryce Rainer and Thayron Liranzo this July via the draft and a trade respectively. Detroit is ready to compete and has the farm needed to deepen their roster and still make some big moves if needed. Full analysis on The Call Up!

Seattle Mariners

The offense in Seattle has been an issue in recent seasons, but their farm system features five Top 100 hitting prospects leading the way. With a combination of recent draft picks and international finds, the offense side of this farm is among the best in baseball.

Colt Emerson has emerged as their top asset with others including Cole Young, Jonny Farmelo, and Lazaro Montes all showing plenty of exciting characteristics.

The pitching side was greatly bolstered by their first two picks in the 2024 MLB Draft as Ryan Sloan and switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje (yes, you’re reading that correctly!) quickly became their top arms. Logan Evans had a huge breakout 2024 season and forms a strong trio of arms with those two draft picks. Full analysis on The Call Up!

Top Prospects Traded this Winter

In recent weeks, the trade market has picked up and a number of top prospects have been traded. Four players on our Top 100 Prospects have been dealt recently with plenty of others switching teams in trades as well.

Let’s look into each of the four top prospects traded and you can listen to our analysis on more prospects that were dealt in this episode of The Call Up!

Cam Smith to the Astros

One of the early standouts in the final months of the season from the 2024 MLB Draft, Cam Smith made it all the way to Double-A in his first couple months of pro ball.

Drafted 14th overall in July, Smith instantly becomes the Astros top prospect and it’s impressive that Houston was able to get a prospect of his caliber alongside their new third baseman in Isaac Paredes.

While Kyle Tucker is a superstar, the Astros clearly didn’t feel good about their chances of retaining him next offseason and were able to get strong value in return including a prospect of Smith’s caliber.

Kyle Teel and Braden Montgomery to the White Sox

Boston made their big move by acquiring Garrett Crochet while the White Sox were able to add four more prospects, headlined by this pair, to a system that has become one of the best in baseball since they started leaning into the rebuild in 2023.

Kyle Teel was the Red Sox first round pick in 2023 and now forms the best catching prospect tandem in baseball alongside Edgar Quero. With an advanced approach and feel to hit, Teel’s floor is high and proved that with a .852 OPS in Double-A before reaching Triple-A for the final month of 2024.

Meanwhile, Braden Montgomery was just selected 12th overall by Boston in July after being a real consideration as a top 5 pick before an ankle injury ended his collegiate career. He has yet to debut professionally, but has the upside to hit 30+ home runs with ample pop and a big arm in a corner outfield spot.

Starlyn Caba to the Marlins

The most recent player dealt was the headliner of the Jesus Luzardo trade as Starlyn Caba instantly becomes one of the top prospects in Miami.

Touted for his exceptional defense and speed at shortstop, Caba just turned 19 years old and showed plenty of flashes between Rookie Ball and Single-A in 2024. Across just 78 games, Caba stole 50 bases and walked 67 times as he flashed patience and maturity for an 18-year-old hitter.

Trivia Answer: B) Dylan Crews

Ranked as our fourth-best prospect in baseball, Dylan Crews has 60-grade run and 60-grade as he joins the aforementioned Starlyn Caba, Max Clark, and Enrique Bradfield Jr. as the only Top 100 prospects with that combination of speed and defense.
