Trade Deadline Team Guides

Every team has a different approach come trade deadline season. Each team has varying needs, assets to move, and holes to fill.

We got you covered with the intel you need on every team across the league. We have previews or information of the deadline already out for many teams with more on the way!

Buyers

These are the teams we know are ready to push the chips in this deadline. The true contenders approach the deadline ready to fill the gaps of their roster to push for a World Series.

Philadelphia has to go all-in with their aging core. The Phillies have been in the top contenders tier the past few seasons, but they’re window is closing in the not-too-distant future. With the best pitching staff in the game, there’s no better time to make a big splash. Read more!

Detroit is having an excellent season, but they have a complex deadline ahead. The Tigers are excellent and have a bright future as well, but how far will they go to win it this year? The organization has some places they could add and many directions they could choose in the next week. Read more!

Los Angeles can defend their title with some key reinforcements. The Dodgers can beat anyone, despite poor health all season. Balancing those injuries with some new additions will make them favorite to win it all again. Read more!

New York has clearer needs than most. The Yankees are far from securing a playoff spot as they battle within a stacked division. Compared to some, though, they have some specific places that could instantly get upgraded this week. Read more!

Wait And See

These teams face the toughest decision in the next weeks…to buy or to sell? Both? Neither? They may not fully know yet, we certainly don’t know yet, and we’ll see what happens.

St. Louis faces an uphill battle with two surging rivals. The Cardinals have been a competitive team all season, but the Brewers and Cubs are playing much better ball as the deadline approaches. Read more!

Boston has been up-and-down all year, but the talent is there. The Red Sox went on a heater before the break, and have the talent to go deep despite a tough start to the year. Will they prepare for the future or try to win a weaker American League? Read more!

Texas could suddenly make a push after a rough year. The Rangers may be too late to the party, but their pitching staff is good enough to compete with anyone. Read more!

Miami is heading in the right direction, yet questions loom. The Marlins have taken a huge step forward this season, especially of late. There’s still plenty more to be revealed over the next few months, though. Read more!

Seattle needs to push in order to catch Houston. The Mariners started the year as hot as anyone, but were swiftly overtaken the Astros once again. They still have a shot at the AL West if they execute quickly. After a quiet offseason, the time to strike is now. Read more!

Sellers

Kenny Rogers said it best, “you got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em.”

These teams can gather assets and prepare for the future beyond 2025.

Atlanta is entering uncharted territory. The Braves have been in the clear “buyer” category for years, but seem like they may finally sell. It has been a brutal season and change is clearly on the way. Read more!

The other Los Angeles team needs to throw in the towel. The Angels have been much better than most anticipated this season. However, they’re still 10 games back in their division with minimal postseason chances. Are they finally going to give in and sell assets? Read more!

Cleveland could end up moving some stars. The Guardians have been largely disappointing to this point with all indications pointing to them retooling for 2026 and beyond. Could they end up moving two of their star pieces though? Read more!
