Just Baseball's Updated Top 100 Prospects 💯

Just Baseball's Updated Top 100 MLB Prospects by Aram Leighton is live!

Oh yes, the time has come. For all you baseball nerds out there, I’m not sure there are more exciting days of the year than Top 100 release days.

This is the future of baseball we’re talking about here. You know that Kevin McGonigle guy who is trending towards becoming the AL Rookie of the Year? He was on here just a few months ago!

Let’s dive into the highlights, and make sure you check out Aram’s full Top 100 Prospects List with the best analysis in the game.

Top 10 Prospects

Jesús Made is the undisputed top prospect in the game. Following the graduation of the consensus top two prospects, Konnor Griffin and Kevin McGonigle, the Brewers’ 19-year-old phenom has claimed the top spot. Made has flown through the minors after breaking out at the DSL in 2024. He cruised through Single- and High-A last season, debuting in Double-A at just 18 years this year. With plenty of room to add more impact as he develops, Made leads the pack in this update and quite possibly for the next few.

Colt Emerson is making a huge impact in Seattle already. Our newly appointed #2 prospect has been showing out for Seattle to start his MLB career, providing a spark that has helped Seattle get hot of late.

Ryan Sloan is the new top pitching prospect in baseball. This one may come as a surprise as you’ll find Seth Hernandez (#6) or Kade Anderson (#10) at the top of most other lists, but the 20-year-old Sloan deserves shine for his extremely impressive rise through MiLB. His stuff and advanced makeup shined last year, but has reached new heights this season in Double-A. To be clear though, Hernandez and Anderson are excellent arms, too. This trio of arms is just incredible.

Welcome back, Mr. Salas. One of the most hyped teenage prospects of this era, Salas became a household name around the industry at just 17 years old. He was pushed up through the ranks rather aggressively, and dealt with a season of struggles on the field and then another lost year due to injuries. Somehow just 20 years old still, Salas is starting to put it together at the plate in Double-A to go along with his elite defense behind the dish. He’s the best catching prospect in baseball.

Noteworthy Names and Buzz

Every list brings plenty of changes, new names, and excitement. Let’s take a brief dive into the names that may stand out to folks on this new list.

Newcomers

32. Eric Hartman (ATL) - The Braves’ 20th round pick from 2024 is absolutely soaring up boards, debuting near the top 30. He looks like a true scouting victory for the Braves. He has been incredible in High-A at just 19 years old, looking like an elite prospect in the making.

48. Karson Milbrandt (MIA) - The Marlins quietly now have five of the top 50 prospects on our list, with the biggest breakout coming from Milbrandt. He began to emerge as a legit arm last year, just missing our list at the start of this season. He has taken his game to another level this season, dominating Double-A to the tune of a 1.34 ERA with a near 40% strikeout rate and was promoted to Triple-A this week.

66. Devin Fitz-Gerald (WSH) - Washington acquired Fitz-Gerald in addition to four other prospects in the MacKenzie Gore trade this offseason, which already looks like a huge win for the Nats. Fitz-Gerald has broken out in a big way, getting on base at a .390 clip with 12 home runs and 11 steals so far at the High-A level.

There are 25 newcomers in total on this updated list, check them all out!

Risers

11. Alfredo Duno (CIN) - Just outside of the top 10, the Reds catching prospect climbed from 42nd on the previous list. He has done nothing but mash in his professional career, and has made significant strides with his defense behind the plate.

19. Theo Gillen (TBR) - The Rays develop high school picks better than just about anyone in baseball, and Gillen is a prime example right now. He has turned into a true star prospect after entering pro ball as a toolsy yet raw player. His power uptick has been apparent, with nearly double the home runs he had last season in 30 games while playing at a higher level.

27. Arjun Nimmala (TOR) - Toronto has a new top prospect in their 2023 first round pick, who has taken his time developing but appears to be turning a big corner this season. He started hot in High-A, earning a quick promotion to Double-A. The 20-year-old shortstop has improved his quality of contact, and subsequently soared up this list.
