The college baseball regular season wrapped up as we look towards conference tournaments and the postseason.

In partnership with

Heading into conference tournaments we got plenty of drama in the finale of the 2025 regular season.

With Georgia Tech taking the ACC on a numbers game, Kansas knocking West Virginia out of a host spot, and Southern Miss doing everything in their power to get a Hattiesburg Regional, we had plenty of action this week.

With postseason drama on the Horizon, the On the Clock team will have somebody in person at every major conference tournament, bringing you the best content day in and day out through this final stretch!

Six New Teams Welcomed In

Texas is the final top team heading into conference tournaments. In year one of the Sclossnagle regime in Austin, the Longhorns take the SEC regular season championship after being eighth in the betting odds to start the season.

With Max Weiner putting together one of the best pitching staffs in the country, Texas was able to overcome offenseive shortcomings all year with their ability to dominate on the bump.

Conference Tournament Previews

Rather than giving in-depth previews for each tournament, we’re going to give some teams to watch as they are either on host-bubble status or tournament-bubble status and need to show out to clinch their fate, as well as a personal prediction of each winner.

SEC

Florida: The Gators need to show out to clinch a regional spot, despite their 1-11 start to SEC play they find themselves at 15-15. While I don’t personally believe a .500 team should host, you have to acknowledge how well they played down the stretch. They’ll need to notch a few wins if they want to see a Gainesville Regional.

Tennessee: The Vols find themselves in a similar boat as Florida, but they’re far from red hot. Losing six of their last seven SEC series’, they have some serious work to do in the SEC tournament to have any hope of hosting.

Kentucky: The Wildcats currently sits at 13-17 which normally is the magic number to get in, but I see them as a true bubble team. Their first game will be against Oklahoma, and more than likely Kyson Witherspoon. I believe this is a true win and get in game for the Cats.

Winner Prediction: Arkansas

ACC

Virginia: Depending on who you ask, the Hoos are a bubble team. While I believe they did enough down the stretch to earn a spot, a win would solidify that. With how chaotic the ACC has been this year, there’s no such thing as a guarantee so the Cavs need to show out.

Notre Dame: Another true bubble team, the Fighting Irish are on the outside looking in as the 11 seed. They’ll need to put together a nice little run to earn their spot, having to go through both Boston College and Virginia to make that happen.

Winner Prediction: North Carolina

Big Ten

Iowa: Despite winning 21 games in conference play, the Hawkeyes are certainly on the outside looking in, with an RPI in the 70’s. Drawing Indiana and Rutgers in their pool, I’m not even convinced they make it out of that, but they’ll need an impressive run to get their spot in.

USC: The Trojans can seal the deal if they make it out of their pool of Washington and Penn State. Not a tall order, but it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen a team get tripped up in this conference.

Winner Prediction: Oregon

Big 12

Oklahoma State: The Cowboys have zero room for error this week in Arlington. With a 27-22 overall record, I believe they need one, if not two wins to earn an at-large bid. As much as it might pain them, they will probably have to burn ace, Harrison Bodendorf against Baylor in round one just to keep the hopes alive.

TCU: The Horned Frogs got a very favorable draw in my opinion, and if they’re able to run the table this week, immediately become a host. With an RPI of 17 and 19-11 conference record, this would be the cherry on top that I believe would put them past a handful of others fighting for a host seed.

Winner Prediction: TCU

2025 MLB Draft Watch

MLB Draft Spotlight Player - LHP Kade Anderson, LSU

Kade Anderson continues to be one of the biggest risers in the class with his low 90’s fastball with big carry and advanced offspeed pitches. With 133 strikeouts over 83 innings pitched, Anderson has shown advanced stuff all season long and looks to be every part of a top 15 pick.

MLB Draft Spotlight Player - C Ike Irish, Auburn

With a three home run weekend, Irish continues to do what he does best, mash. With a 1.143 OPS and 16 home runs, Irish has certainly hit himself into the top 20 conversation. While he more than likely won’t stick behind the plate in the pros, it’s hard not to love what he’s done at the plate, especially with a near one-to-one strikeout to walk ratio.
