Early MLB Postseason Preview and Odds 📊🔭

A look towards the MLB Postseason with a few lefts left to play in the regular season.

In partnership with

Does it feel like a new rookie is absolutely dominating every day? It has seemed that way to us!

We’re in the final stretch of the regular season with the postseason becoming the focal point of everyone’s attention. Playoff races are heating up, a bunch of divisions are still very much up for grabs, and odds are shifting all the time.

Today, we’ll dive into the odds for each league’s pennant and the World Series. To catch up on award races and where each team stands, check out last week’s edition.

World Series and Pennant Odds

We’re less than three weeks away from the start of the MLB playoffs with the opening round of the postseason kicking off on September 30th.

World Series Odds (Via BetMGM)

  1. Dodgers: +425

  2. Phillies: +650

  3. Brewers: +700

  4. Yankees: +800

  5. Tigers: +825

  6. Blue Jays: +950

  7. Padres: +1300

  8. Mets: +1400

  9. Cubs: +1500

  10. Mariners: +1500

  11. Astros: +1600

  12. Red Sox: +1600

The field feels pretty wide open compared to this time of year in past seasons. While the Dodgers still remain ahead of the pack, their World Series odds are longer than they were at the start of the season (+400) and they dropped from +350 in the past week.

The Phillies and Brewers have taken firm control of the second and third spots behind Los Angeles, while the American League is extremely wide open with the Yankees and Tigers leading for now.

These are the 12 teams currently projected to make the postseason, but the Rangers, Giants, and Reds particularly are still very much in the hunt.

AL Pennant

In the American League, there is no clear favorite to win the pennant this season. While the Tigers have been the most steady top team, the Blue Jays have come on strong in the second half and the Yankees remain a threat as always.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox have turned around their season. The Mariners and Astros are still battling for the AL West, but don’t fully count out the Rangers just yet. They’re quietly just 2.5 games behind Houston and 1.5 behind Seattle…

Cleveland and Kansas City are still in the mix for a Wild Card spot, but face an uphill battle with all three AL West teams ahead of them.

NL Pennant

The Dodgers are the favorite, but it is STACKED in the NL when you start to consider the early rounds of the postseason.

Milwaukee has been the best team in baseball for a few months, yet they’re still third in odds to come out of their league. Philadelphia looks weakened after losing Zack Wheeler for the year and now Trea Turner for at least a little while, but they’re still a serious threat.

San Diego still has a shot to take the NL West despite the Dodgers being respected way more in terms of the postseason. And the Cubs actually have a better record than both LA and San Diego, but have lost some steam of late.

The Mets are seriously confusing too with plenty of talent and not many wins lately to show for it.

Look out for San Francisco and Cincinnati, who are both threatening New York for the last Wild Card spot. They’re long shots to make it far in October, but you never know!

They’re a private company, but Pacaso just reserved the Nasdaq ticker “$PCSO.”

No surprise the same firms that backed Uber, eBay, and Venmo already invested in Pacaso. What is unique is Pacaso is giving the same opportunity to everyday investors. And 10,000+ people have already joined them.

Created a former Zillow exec who sold his first venture for $120M, Pacaso brings co-ownership to the $1.3T vacation home industry.

They’ve generated $1B+ worth of luxury home transactions across 2,000+ owners. That’s good for more than $110M in gross profit since inception, including 41% YoY growth last year alone.

And you can join them today for just $2.90/share. But don’t wait too long. Invest in Pacaso before the opportunity ends September 18.

Recent MLB Highlights

Let’s take a look at some of the most impressive performances and milestones reached in the past week around MLB.

Connelly Early’s MLB Debut

If you have never heard the name Connelly Early, I encourage you to check out the highlights from his MLB debut. He tied the Red Sox record with 11 strikeouts in his MLB debut.

This guy absolutely shoved and it was truly one of the best MLB debuts we have seen from a pitcher. There have been many of those this season (pitchers just keep getting nastier if you weren’t aware!).

Despite the Trade, Raffy Devers Still Rakes

This trade between Boston and San Francisco was rather controversial and while the Giants didn’t start winning until a couple of weeks ago, Devers has done his part.

He has been downright excellent since joining the Giants, particularly in the past month.

Aroldis Chapman’s Historic Season

Yes, we saw what happened last night. Whatever. This guy is putting up one of the best seasons we have ever seen from a reliever, yet alone from one who is 37 years old.

He has been LIGHTS OUT for Boston all season and signed an extension to remain there recently.

Paul Skenes and Tarik Skubal Running Away with Cy Youngs

It’s getting hard to argue against any other pitchers being considered top two in baseball right now. Skenes and Skubal are running away their respective leagues’ Cy Young Awards and doing it in dominating fashion.

We pose this question to you though…
