College World Series Preview and Top 300 MLB Draft Prospects 🏆
The College World Series kicks off this weekend in Omaha.
From teams of destiny to electric home environments, and the dog piles leading up to the finale of the college baseball season, we’ve been spoiled thus far.
In a year that has felt wide open since the beginning, the field that has made it to the College World Series speaks volumes to that sentiment.
On top of that, the MLB Draft is on the way, too, as we’re in the home stretch of the 2025 season.
The College World Series is upon us, let’s dive into it!
College World Series

We finally made it to the promised land: Omaha, Nebraska. This is where - in a few short weeks - one team will be crowed the 2025 National Champion.
In unsurprising fashion based on how much of this year has gone, we see a field of eight teams, none of which appeared in Omaha last year, the first time this has ever happened.
The Team of Destiny
While four-seeds have been awfully competitive in recent year, with Oral Roberts making the CWS and Wright State bouncing Vandy from their own regional, we finally get a Missouri Valley team through to Omaha after Evansville ran into the wagon that was the 2024 Tennessee Volunteers.
The Murray State Racers clinched their first trip to Omaha last night with a 5-4 win over the Duke Blue Devils after taking down Ole Miss in the Oxford regional. We’ve seen this team win every which way so far in the postseason, and with their relentless offensive attack, it’s easy to believe they will trip somebody up in Omaha.
TICKET PUNCHED! 🎟️
Murray State is heading to Omaha for the first time in program history! What an incredible run it has been so far, and it is not over! College World Series, Racers! #RoadToOmaha#GoRacers

2018 Repeat Title?
Arkansas punched their ticket with a convincing sweep over the 2024 National Champion Tennessee Volunteers in Fayetteville.
The last time the Hogs were in the National Championship game was against the Oregon State Beavers, where their hopes and dreams were crushed by a miscommunication play on what would’ve been the 27th out on a tweener-pop fly.
Not only are the Beavers in Omaha as well, but they’re in the other half of the bracket, meaning we could see a rematch of 2018, with the Hogs looking to break what feels like a curse ever since then.
It’s hard not to like Arkansas’ odds given the depth on both sides of the ball, and having one of the best coaches in the sport in their corner. They’ll unfortunately play LSU in round one, and I can’t help but feel like the winner of that game will be playing for a National Championship.
BANG!
An absolute rocket off the bat of Charles Davalan to give Arkansas a 2-0 lead over Tennessee! #RoadToOmaha

The Chants Are Back
College Baseball is better when Coastal Carolina is good. In Kevin Schnall’s first season at the helm after many years as an assistant, the Chants make their way to Omaha. The first time since 2016 when they were the last team standing.
I can’t help but continuously draw parallels between that 2016 club and this years’, with three legit starters in Cameron Flukey, Jacob Morrison, and Riley Eikhoff, and an offense that is as deep and relentless as anybody’s, this is one team I wouldn’t want to see.
They matchup with arguably the second hottest team in the country, the Arizona Wildcats who are coming off a super regional win against North Carolina in Chapel Hill. While everyone will be talking and tuned into LSU and Arkansas, my attention will be on Arizona and Coastal Carolina.
Coastal Carolina's Jacob Morrison and Hayden Johnson today ⚡️

Top 300 MLB Draft Board
We are just over a month away from the 2025 MLB Draft, and now is a great time to piece together a board with confidence. As we creep ever closer, there’s more agreement on where players will end up going next month.
These are some of the standout players ranked at the top of our draft board right now.
1: Ethan Holliday, SS/3B - Stillwater HS
He’s already posted triple-digit exit velocities on the regular in-game, too, including a 111 MPH bolt during 18U trials. Scouts expect Holliday to add more muscle to his frame as he matures physically, enhancing his power potential. The biggest priority will be shortening up his swing, but there’s tons to like with the offensive projection.
Ethan Holliday's second hit of the week: a 111 MPH line drive single in the first inning.
Such an easy, yet violent swing. Thunderous bat speed and very quick, fluid hands. As good as it gets.

6: Kade Anderson, LHP - LSU
A draft-eligible sophomore, Anderson pitched himself into pivotal roles on the LSU staff, and he has produced in a Friday role for the Tigers. Anderson’s body is incredibly projectable, and his arm is uber-quick, which points towards him throwing much harder in due time.
For now, his fastball has sat in the low-90s consistently, touching 96 MPH, with exceptional carry upstairs, slight cut, and big extension, allowing the pitch to miss barrels at a high rate. His fastball command can waver, but his new mid-80s slider gives him a secondary to rely upon for strikes.
Walked away impressed with LSU's Kade Anderson last night.
FB - 91-95 T96, held 92-94 most of the night, big carry
SL - 82-88, manipulates shape, can be shorter CB or sweeper
CH - 81-85, sells very well, heavy fade
CB - 79-81, bigger depthLooks like a top 10-15 pick.

34: Caden Bodine, C - Coastal Carolina
Bodine’s barrel awareness and bat-to-ball skills are top of the charts from both sides of the plate. It’s a sublime approach overall, utilizing the whole field to his advantage, and he’s posted healthy GB/FB rates. In 2024, Bodine ran a contact rate of 89% (90% LHH, 88% RHH), which included an absurd 94% in-zone contact rate. It is very similar in 2025, as well. He handles velocity and spin very well, keeping strikeouts to a minimum and walking at a modest clip.
Coastal Carolina C Caden Bodine has a case for the most polished hit tool in the college ranks this year.
Bodine went 3-5 last night, including this double that nearly went out to the opposite field in the 8th — left the bat at 99 MPH.
Expect Bodine to be in first-round convos.
