We’re two months out from the MLB Draft, which means it’s time to seriously start projecting how this year’s draft will go down. Our first mock draft of 2026 is live on Justbaseball.com with the predictions for the top 40 picks.

MLB Mock Draft 1.0

Our first full 2026 MLB Mock Draft is officially live! Our team of MLB Draft writers, led by Tyler Jennings, projected the first 40 picks of the draft with analysis on every player and their potential destination.

This will be our first of numerous mocks as the draft quickly approaches and is now just two months away.

Roch Cholowsky holds strong at top despite buzz. The projected top pick since last year remains at the top for us, but there has been plenty of chatter surrounding that pick with Grady Emerson and others seemingly in play.

Grady Emerson is the lone prep player at the top of the draft. While other prep hitters have been mentioned as names to watch at the top, our mock ultimately has seven of the first eight picks set to be college players. Emerson is widely considered one of the best overall prospects in this class, while other top names like Jacob Lombard and EJ Booth have immense upside but some concerns as well.

Jackson Flora and Cameron Flukey remain top arms. These two have been the projected top arms in the class for some time now, despite Flukey missing significant time with an injury. Flora has been the most impressive arm in college baseball this season for UC Santa Barbara, while Flukey has recently returned and hopes to further establish his stock down the stretch at Coastal Carolina.

Cam Schlitter x Lids x Just Baseball on Saturday in Times Square 🔥

Through nine games this season, Schlittler has been unreal. He has pitched to a 1.35 ERA while striking out nearly 30% of batters and walking less than 5% through 53.1 innings.

He leads all pitchers by a wide margin thus far with 2.4 fWAR on the year. All of his underlying metrics back up his performance with an MLB-leading 1.64 FIP as well.

The 25-year-old is a pretty incredible story after making 14 excellent starts in his rookie campaign last year prior to an impressive postseason outing. He has carried that over and then some this year. If you’re in NYC this week, come meet this rising star!
