The MLB Draft and All-Star Week are approaching, but first we'll dive into our updated power rankings and highlight the top performers from the month of June.

MLB Power Rankings

We have crossed the halfway point of the 2026 season, and teams have started to separate themselves from the pack in either direction. Powerhouses in the National League like the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers are the clear favorites right now, while teams like the Cincinnati Reds and New York Mets have been on a downward spiral.

With every loss, sellers begin to emerge ahead of the deadline. Meanwhile, contenders are assessing their needs and figuring out where they need to load up for the stretch run.

Each month, our editorial team ranks all 30 teams in baseball for our updated power rankings. Let’s dive into our latest update, featuring a few big risers (like the red-hot Miami Marlins) and some fallers (like those Mets and Reds).

The Dodgers are right where they were last month, and really where they have been for the last two seasons: on the mountaintop, looking down on everyone else.

As the Atlanta Braves jumped out to a red-hot start and the Philadelphia Phillies wallowed below .500, it looked like the Phillies’ chances of defending their division crown were slim. Yet, entering play on July 2, they’re only 2.5 games back in the NL East. They’re still legitimate World Series contenders, and they proved it with a dominant showing in June.

The St. Louis Cardinals have embraced their youth this season, and it’s led to a 44-39 record that currently places them in a postseason spot. While they stumbled to the finish in June, there’s no denying they’ve been one of the best teams in MLB through the first few months of the season.

The Texas Rangers are one of the hottest teams in baseball. A 19-11 record over their last 30 games has propelled them up both the AL standings and these power rankings. Texas is currently tied for the top spot in the AL West with the Seattle Mariners, and while the Rangers are trending upward, the Mariners are headed in the opposite direction.

The Mets’ season was on life support after a brutal 7-19 month of April, but last month, they seemed to be trending in the right direction.

Rookies Carson Benge and A.J. Ewing were providing a spark to a Mets outfield that already had Juan Soto. Francisco Lindor was working his way back from the IL and was expected to return at some point in June. All the Mets had to do was keep their heads above water until he got there.

Instead, they drowned.

June Players of the Month

This month delivered plenty of excellence around the league, but these four players stood above the rest and earned a spot in Just Baseball’s Players of the Month!

AL Hitter: Junior Caminero

After the 2025 campaign, there was an odd dialogue surrounding the Rays third baseman. Given his splits, there was at least a little cause for skepticism as to whether it would stick going back to Tropicana Field this year.

Last year, he had just a 100 wRC+ on the road, slashing .218/.266/.477. Sure, there was plenty of slug, but the overall results didn’t follow outside of that. This year, he’s bucked that trend. While still doing better at home, he’s improved his road splits to a 117 wRC+ along with a .250/.330/.450 slash.

His June was nothing short of spectacular. Across 26 games, the 22-year-old hit 10 home runs and drove in 24 runs.

AL Pitcher: Drew Rasmussen

The Rays stars dominated this month, but especially Rasmussen.

A pinnacle of consistency when healthy, the right-hander posted an ERA under 1.00 in June. That alone is already impressive, but considering that figure led the AL by over a run makes it that much more impressive.

NL Hitter: Pete Crow-Armstrong

At this time last year, Pete Crow-Armstrong looked like a legitimate contender for the NL MVP. Or at least, he looked like the only player who might be able to dethrone Shohei Ohtani.

Then, PCA struggled through August and September, and those struggles carried over to the beginning of 2026. Was it possible that his hot start in 2025 was a mirage? Maybe he wasn’t really an MVP-caliber talent after all.

Um, no. He definitely, definitely is. The Cubs center fielder went off in June, putting up the kind of offensive numbers we’re only used to seeing from names like Judge, Kurtz, Alvarez, and Ohtani.

NL Pitcher: Logan Webb

One of the hardest parts of choosing a pitcher of the month is deciding how heavily to weigh a pitcher’s ERA compared to his underlying numbers. Thankfully, Logan Webb made this one easy for us. Not only did he finish June with an MLB-leading sub-1.00 ERA, but his 1.3 fWAR in the month was also tops among NL pitchers.
